The technique aims to stimulate the development of follicles in a woman’s ovaries by administering carefully selected oral hormones.  Ovulation induction is a method of assisted reproduction that is appropriate for the treatment of fertility problems in women who do not have normal ovulation or have no ovulation at all because of hormonal disorders or because of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

The Ovulation induction medications that are used work instead of the natural hormonal surge, and the ovaries begin developing eggs rhythmically, thickening the uterine lining. On Cloudnine, we monitor ovulation induction cycles continuously through pelvic ultrasounds to measure how well the follicles are developing and how thick the endometrium is growing.  Ovulation induction aims to open up frequent fertile windows, during which a schedule for intercourse is recommended. Alternatively, fertilization may be performed through intrauterine insemination (IUI).
